Accomplishments
JW “Coop” Moreno is a Professional Bass Fisherman and is proud to be a member of the Captain Gary's Marine Care Products Pro Staff. He competes in the B.A.S.S., PAA and FLW tournament series. This Kentucky native is no stranger to intense competition. He competed for 15 years on the Rodeo circuit in the PBR, PRCA, IPRA, NABA and USTRC series as a bullrider, saddle-bronc rider, calf roping and team roping member and bullfighter. Driven by his life-long passion for fishing, JW traded the rodeo ring for lake waters in 2007 and began competing in bass fishing tournaments across the country. His determination, focus and fishing skills have earned him 17 first place finishes, 13 2nd place finishes and nine 3rd place finishes, honors that are testament to his love of the thrill of competition. Coop’s determination to capture bass fishing’s top prize isn’t all that drives him to succeed – this compassionate volunteer is also donating 10% of his 2012 earnings to the Kentucky State Police Trooper Island Camp. The organization is dear to his heart and he proudly supports their efforts to support and empower children in the foster care system and at-risk, inner-city youth. He also participates in dozens of charity fishing tournaments each year, where his trademark laugh and infectious smile are typically on display. JW’s schedule is a busy one! When not in the midst of an intense day of tournament competition, JW can be spotted conducting seminars and fishing demonstrations across the country. His sense of humor, comfort speaking to crowds and ease in any situation have earned him repeat invitations as a featured presenter at numerous fishing expos and have made him a crowd favorite.
